About Providence
Other Resources

Jesus said, "Go into the world and make disciples of all the nations." Each member of the church participates in this mission when he faithfully serves Christ in his weekly vocation. In addition to the witness of labor done to the glory of God, there are numerous opportunities at Providence to pray for, support, and participate in evangelistic mission works such as Vacation Bible School and short term foreign missions projects.

Short-Term Mission Opportunities:
Every year we send a short-term mission team from our congregation to minister to others. For the past several years the teams have helped with an English Camp in Juarez, Mexico. Working with Mission to the World (MTW), Border Evangelism and Mercy Ministries (BEAMM), and a local church we teach English to children and adults using Bible verses and scripture memory.
This has proven to be a growing experience for the members of the teams as they share the love of Christ and teach the Gospel in a different culture.
2005 Summer Mission Trip – English Camp & Construction
Our annual short-term mission trip is planned once again for Juarez, Mexico in July. We have invited Cornerstone Presbyterian Church to partner with us again this year. Our team will be teaching English in a vacation Bible school format using scripture memory and Bible stories to children in grades pre-k through 12. A class for the moms will utilize arts, crafts, informal discussion, and daily scripture reading to teach English and to share the Gospel.
Our main goal is to share the Gospel and show the love of Jesus Christ by serving the children and families in the community. Please contact Monte Shields if you are interested in going.
Providence Partners with BEAMM for missions work in Juarez
The first BEAMM Partnership Conference was held on November 21-23, 2003, in El Paso, TX. Eleven people from seven different Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) churches joined BEAMM team members, Rick Box, Mission To The World (MTW) Mexico Country Director, and Andrew Lamb, Partnership Consultant to MTW, to hear how a formal partnership among PCA churches, MTW, and BEAMM could advance the work on the U.S./Mexico border as well as to create a church planting movement among Hispanics throughout the United States.

Lamb explained to the group that a Partnership is like a marriage relationship: A husband not only supports his wife financially and helps around the house, but she is also the focus of his affection and they become one in purpose, reputation, and ministry.

The conference included reports by BEAMM team members, an explanation of the BEAMM Vision 2004-2020, and a tour of BEAMM projects in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

You can learn more at BEAMM's website.

Gracia y Paz is Buying Land!
Providence has worked very closely with Gracia y Paz Church in Juarez, Mexico helping with English Camps on our annual summer mission trips.

The Gracia y Paz Church is Buying Land! Providence has worked very closely with Gracia y Paz Church in Juarez, Mexico helping with English Camps on our annual summer mission trips. The Gracia y Paz church has been without a permanent meeting place since its beginning in 1997. They have signed an agreement to purchase about 3/4 acre of land in a new residential area of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. This land will also become the home of the San Pablo Seminary, Juarez Campus. The Seminary is now meeting in temporary facilities at the Renovación Church in Juarez.

Donations to the MTW fund-raising account are needed. As explained in a recent Sunday school class, the fund is a revolving account that will be used as an interest-free loan. As the loan is paid back the funds can be used for other similar purchases along the Border. Your contributions can help the work on the Border for many years.

The MTW Border Revolving Fund is account #93900.

Missionaries We Support:
With Acts 1:8 in mind, we seek to support missions work locally, nationally, and in all parts of the world. We encourage the congregation to pray for and support our missionaries.
